Hi everyone, just thought i'll update everyone how's it going with Elowen.
Well, i went with nesteaboy for another CoP mission recently. The Phomiuna aqueducts one. Now, nesteaboy went before on this mission but they failed. They killed the minotaur as per the storyline but apparently the mission doesn't end there, you got to go thru a gate whose key drops from Fomors (mean ass undead from hell) or get a thief to pick the lock. At that time they had neither key nor thief, hence they failed.
This time, nesteaboy was back with a vengeance and we banded together once again to defeat the minotaur and prove ourselves worthy. The initial part went rather well, Nesteaboy having done this mission before guided as very well, Sneak handled most of the aggro and despite the occasional true sight mob we managed to get to the minotaur. The minotaur is easier than it seems, we managed to subdue it without a hitch, the thing is, when we killed it, neither event nor item was obtained. Apparently we had to do more before we could return. Now once again traversing the wet and gloomy aqueducts we arrived at the gate. This time however, we had brought a thief, and went through nicely ^^
However, from this point on, nesteaboy had no more prior experience and hence we had to rely on our intuition and exploration. This was when the mission began to get a little more icky. Fomors and Stegotaurs (true sight mobs) guarded this region. Now were no longer ladders and aqueducts but rather, living quarters for undead called the Fomor. They took on all forms; Galka, even taru! An undead taru is truly a sad sight, all the cuteness driven from it, glow red eyes >.<
Anyway, i digress. Now we sneaked our way through the lair of the Fomor, using their secret passageways activated by oil lamps and we eventually reach a part with 9 oil lamps. At this point, disaster struck. Someone opened the door to the next section while Nesteaboy was reapplying sneak. The door opened to reveal 2 very angry fomor whom we quickly engaged. Now, for those that don't know. Phomiuna aqueducts has a level 40 cap and these were 2 IT mobs. We did not survive ; ; By some stroke of luck however, the whm had cast reraise and after the mobs used our bodies to wipe the floor they left us there. Our possum-playing whm then reraised and we raised everyone.
We then carried on our exploration. It was at this time that i noticed a pot with a ??? on it. I'm not a inquisitive person, coz i'm afraid i'll pop an NM or something (it has happened before >.<) But this time i threw caution to the wind and pressed it. The map of Phomiuna aqueducts was hidden in it! I got the map of the aqueducts. The place's nastiness definitely went down after i had a map to guide me. However, there seemed to be a limited number of maps in it and not everyone managed to get a map. Sorry nesteaboy ; ;
At this time, we seemed to going in circles and it was getting late. Frustration levels were rising and taking advantage of a med session i loaded up my brother's computer and searched allakhazam for details on this quest. Ah hah! Apparently, the room with the 9 oil lamps had been the secret all along. What he had to do was to activate the lamps on the current day and its opposing day. We went back to that section of the map and this time, a secret passageway opened within the corridor itself. The Ornate gate sighted, we clicked on it and event time, we win!
A swift escape later, we returned to the Tavnazian safehold we finished this mission. I hate level cap dungeons ><
